Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Review | Anime News Network

Anime News Network: "Naruto Shippden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 won't stand among the market's more complex fighters, though it's well worth a look in the literal sense. Even those outside the anime-and-manga sphere can admire the game's exceptional style, no matter if they turn back once the pretty surface subsides. At least the fans will stay, and they'll find this a capable tribute to their favored series."

IGN;Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 throws you into one of Naruto lore's most titanic battles right from the start. Without any preamble you find yourself clashing with the 20-story-tall Nine-Tailed Demon Fox as he ravages Naruto's home village. Except it isn't Naruto's home village, because he hasn't been born yet. Because this is, at last, the series' cataclysmic battle from the past that's been teased for years, but never fully shown before. It's a great first impression, and it sets the pace for the best Ultimate Ninja Storm to date.

FTG Writes:
Few can boast as robust and diverse a catalog as Naruto Uzumaki. Spanning manga, anime and of course video games, the Naruto name has gripped countless fans. While video game adaptations of anime have often been as acclaimed as movie adaptations of games, CyberConnect2 has made a name for themselves doing just that. Of course, when Namco Bandai and CyberConnect2 teamed up to publish the first Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm entry in the series, hopes were high. After three titles two numbered the hopes have been met, and the expectations are mounting. One of the latest entries for one of the most faithful adaptations of the Naruto Shippuden anime series, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 enters the Fourth Great Ninja War saga.

Going into Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, I had next to no experience with the franchise, aside from a couple brief matches with one of the earlier games in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. I havent ever read the manga nor have I seen an episode of the anime. So I went into this game as a complete blank slate Naruto-wise, and that had me a little nervous.

Gi - Developer CyberConnect2 has been setting the bar on anime game visuals since the release of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm on PlayStation 3 back in 2008. Two more sequels have been made since then, expanding the cast and feature set while holding true to the amazing action set pieces from the source material. Still unsurpassed and now operating on a much grander scale, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 seeks to extend CyberConnect2s reign as master of the ultra slick and beautiful anime fighter. Does it surpass its predecessors or should it disappear in a cloud of smoke and logs?
